Another style of Fake Profile on LinkedIn is the affiliate sales profile. this is not a real person, they place links to websites for click throughs and to embed cookies into your browser just in case you end up buying something later through that website and they get a referral fee.
LinkedIn has been made aware of such activity but because these people tend to only spam groups they are ignored. Why LinkedIn cannot spot this activity in their platform is ridiculous.
